Mt. of the Holy Cross – North Ridge Route

PREVIEW:

Rumors abounded about a “snowy cross” for years, but the reclusive nature of the peak kept it hidden. It was not until 1869 when it was spied from Grays Peak by William Brewer was it confirmed that indeed a cross of snow was stamped on the face of a mountain in Colorado.

The North Ridge Trail is 12 miles round trip, a class 2 climb, and 5600 feet to the top. The weather forecasted for the outing is a high of 73 with overcast skies in the morning and a chance of showers in the afternoon.
